bullet  Medical Notes:

Red Lake Falls Gazette, November 5, 1903, front page:
Murder and Suicide.
Albert Jensen, living in Sruce, Roseau county, killed his sweetheart, Josephine Johnson, Saturday evening, Oct. 17th, and then committed suicide. They were found Tuesday in the house of Jensen lying cold in death and covered with blood. A gun, blood stained, was found which had been used to batter out the brains of the girl, and a razor and the cut throat of the man told the story.
Two notes written in Norwegian and one in English were found telling in substance that Josephine had teased him till he was mad and that he was drunk. The girl had evidently promised to marry him at one time and then gone back on him, which accounts for the awful deed. A coroner's inquest was held over the remains and a verdict in accordance with the facts shown was given. The man was about 28 years and the girl was 18.

Roseau County Times, October 23, 1903, front page: Murder and Suicide
Notes written by Albert Jensen:
Dear Brother Andrew Jensen.
(Josephine) has been making a fool of me the whole evening and I am tired of it. She is well I can't explain myself, so help me God. I told her that if she didn't quit making a fool of me I'd get mad but she said she didn't care. I am drunk and can't help it.
(The above was written in English, on the same sheet was written in Norwegian.) I am tired of living, she has promised to marry me but has only fooled me. Josephine is my best friend and God if I only hadn't done this. But she teased me so I couldn't help myself. You must excuse me.
On a separate sheet was written:
Josephine Johnson teased me so this evening that I could not help myself. I asked her several times to quit this teasing or I'd get so mad that I might do something wrong, but she didn't quit. I begged her pardon, but she continued the same way. I am sorry for the deed but now it is done. Had she been more reasonable it would have been all right. I am a little drunk and crazed. I have sixty dollars in my pocket.
